The Alternative to Suspension Program

The Alternative to Suspension Program of Associates in Therapy and Assessment is different from other alternative to suspension programs because we offer discreet treatment within a private practice. Our small group sizes encourage a more meaningful experience. Students and parents have the opportunity to meet with the therapists in combined, as well as separate sessions. If necessary, additional therapeutic services and/or referrals are also available.

By completing the Alternative to Suspension Program:

Students will be able to:

  • Reduce out of school suspension time
  • Have a professional evaluation/assessment
  • Explore alternatives to nonprosocial, suspension worthy behavior
  • Participate in skill-building workshop

Parents will be able to:

  • Identify risk-taking behaviors
  • Learn relevant/current information about alcohol and other substances
  • Learn to manage and appropriately consequence nonprosocial behavior
  • Receive support from other parents
